I remember when Toro first opened and replaced the longtime sushi bar there, right at the dawn of the 2016-2017 poke craze. Well, now probably 95% of those poke establishments have shuttered, but Toro remains alive, perhaps because it never operated like so many other poke shops did, which had their fish sitting out all day in the open like a Chipotle while teenagers scoop out random sizes between picking their nose and flirting with their coworkers. Conversely, Toro is more of a traditional restaurant. When you order your bowls, they are made fresh in the kitchen. There are plentiful fish options, including tempura options, more akin to the selection you would find at a sushi bar. They have continued adding more options over time to their menu. I no longer work in the area, so I stopped by recently for the first time in a while, and the quality hasn't changed. Still very fresh - hell, the salmon was still partly frozen! Pretty quick service and never too crowded. They also serve sushi here, but it's merely serviceable, and there are better options nearby if you just want sushi. Come here for the poke.

I haven't visited Toro Sushi in some time. Was craving a poke bowl, so I stopped in. Was greeted by the owners promptly. Nice to be remembered when you haven't been in in awhile. Started with the California roll. Was okay. The crab didn't have a lot of taste. I did like the side of ginger that tasted like it was freshly cut. Next came the poke bowl. I had the albacore, salmon and spicy tuna. I asked for salad and sushi rice for the base. Then topped it with seaweed salad, onion crisps, and edamame. Also, had tge ponzu sauce. Overall the poke bowl was large, filling and delicious. I need to return again, but not wait so long between visits.

Quality sushi for half off price! I was shocked when the guy told me the large variety of sushi that was half off. I got 16 pieces 8 Yellowtail and 8 Spicy for $13, YOU CANT BEAT THAT! I got it to-go but it's a small dining area for dine in. The sushi didn't take too long to prepare after order and it came out super fresh. This was a quick pickup but next time I'll really indulge.

Just passed by to update the menu for April 2024. The real value here is the Omakase B Menu, the $6 happy hour rolls and the $5 sushi add ons. Put all that on 1 tab, and 2 -3 people can eat comfortably. Atmosphere... 4 stars. Very dark inside, even 2 hours before sunset. Otherwise, for what you're getting and the price you're paying, I think it's worth it.

Fair prices and good quality fish. My only complaint was the service was a little slow, but it's worth it because the food was good. I'm totally willing to come back.

Stopped off here for lunch. Location wise, it's great as it's along the main strip. There's plenty of street parking as well as parking structure near by. We sat outside which was a couple of tables along the sidewalk. Indoor seating as well of course. Not quite sure if there's seating at the sushi bar since we never went inside. What caught our attention was the half off sushi. Not sure it's it's happy hour or it's all all day thing. You have the usual, nigiri sushi and some rolls that was on the half off menu. The also had combos which was quite nice for the price. We opted for the hand roll combo and omakase meals. Hand roll combo came with six. Sushi combo came with 10 piece, either salmon or tuna sashimi, edamame and 2 hand roll. Sushi was quite good as well as the rolls. Fish was fresh which was a good thing. Pieces of sushi was quite decent size as you think for half off it couldn't be that big as well as quality. Everything was really nice and tasty. Service and staff was quite nice. Friendly and very helpful. Also, beer was half off which was a good touch to the meal.
